Full Terms of Use

The summary above is a plain-language overview. The full terms below are what apply. Section 17 has an arbitration agreement and class-action waiver that affect how disputes are resolved. You can opt out of it within 30 days.

1. Agreement

These Terms of Use ("Terms") are an agreement between you and SnapSlice (snapslice.app, "SnapSlice", "we", "us"). By creating an account, accepting these Terms in the app, or using SnapSlice, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, don't use SnapSlice.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract. You may not use SnapSlice where the law prohibits it. If you use SnapSlice outside the United States, you're responsible for following your local laws.

You may not use SnapSlice if you're located in, or ordinarily resident in, a country or region subject to comprehensive US sanctions, or if you're on a US government list of restricted parties. SnapSlice is also unavailable in places where our service providers don't offer their services, and we may limit access by location to comply with the law or our providers' terms.

3. Your account

You sign in with a code or link sent to your email. You're responsible for keeping your email account secure and for all activity on your SnapSlice account. Tell us right away at support@snapslice.app if you think someone else has accessed it. Use only an email address you own, and have only one account.

4. Your content

"Your content" means the photos, receipts, shelf tags, edits and other information you add. You keep all rights to it. You give us a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, copy, process, transmit and display your content only as needed to provide, secure and improve SnapSlice for you, including sending it to the service providers named in the Privacy Policy. This license ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies kept briefly in backups as the Privacy Policy describes. You confirm that you have the right to add your content, and that it doesn't break any law or anyone else's rights. Only add receipts that belong to you or your household, or that you're allowed to use.

5. AI results

SnapSlice uses artificial intelligence to read receipts and shelf tags, suggest categories, match products and estimate price drops. AI results can be incomplete or wrong. Results, totals, categories, charts and insights are for your personal information only. Check them against your original receipts before relying on them for any purpose, including budgeting, taxes, expense reports, reimbursements, returns or price adjustments.

6. Price drops, returns and stores

Price-drop alerts, refund estimates and deadlines are estimates based on the information you scanned. Each store sets and changes its own price-adjustment and return policies and decides every request. We don't guarantee any refund, adjustment or outcome, and we aren't responsible for any store's decision. Store names such as Costco, Walmart and WinCo are trademarks of their owners. They're used only to identify where you shopped. SnapSlice isn't affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by any store.

7. Not professional advice

SnapSlice shows information about your own purchases. It isn't financial, tax, legal, medical or other professional advice.

8. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

9. Usage limits and changes to the service

SnapSlice is currently free. Each account has a monthly scan allowance, shown in Settings, and we may pause scanning for everyone when a monthly total is reached. We may change, add or remove features, limits or prices, or show advertising in the future, as described in the Privacy Policy. We'll tell you before paid features or charges apply to you, and you'll never be charged without agreeing first. We may suspend or stop SnapSlice, in whole or in part. If we shut it down permanently, we'll give at least 30 days' notice in the app when we reasonably can, so you can download your data.

10. Third-party services

SnapSlice relies on providers such as Cloudflare, Anthropic and Resend. Their services may sometimes be unavailable. We aren't responsible for third-party services, websites or stores that SnapSlice mentions or links to.

11. Our property and feedback

SnapSlice, including its software, design, name and logo, belongs to us and our licensors and is protected by law. We give you a personal, non-transferable, revocable right to use SnapSlice under these Terms. If you send ideas or feedback, we may use them without any obligation to you.

12. Ending your account

You can delete your account at any time in Settings → Delete account. We may suspend or close your account, with notice where reasonable, if you break these Terms, if we must for legal reasons, or to protect SnapSlice or others. Sections 4 (only for backup copies), 5–7 and 11–21 continue after your account ends.

13. Disclaimer of warranties

SNAPSLICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE". TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, NON-INFRINGEMENT AND ACCURACY. WE DON'T WARRANT THAT SNAPSLICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE OR ERROR-FREE, THAT RESULTS WILL BE ACCURATE, OR THAT DATA WILL NEVER BE LOST. Keep your original receipts for anything important.

14. Limitation of liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SNAPSLICE AND ITS OWNERS, OPERATORS AND PROVIDERS WON'T BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, SAVINGS, REFUNDS, DATA OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO SNAPSLICE OR THESE TERMS, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATED TO SNAPSLICE IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF US $50 OR THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM. Some places don't allow some of these limits. In those places, they apply only as far as the law allows, and nothing in these Terms limits liability that can't be limited by law.

15. Indemnity

To the extent permitted by law, you'll defend, indemnify and hold harmless SnapSlice and its owners and operators from claims, losses and costs, including reasonable legal fees, arising from your content, your misuse of SnapSlice, or your breach of these Terms or the law.

16. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, USA, and applicable US federal law, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Subject to Section 17, any dispute will be heard only in the state or federal courts located in Washington State, and you and we consent to their jurisdiction. If you live outside the US, you keep any protections that the mandatory laws of your country give you, including the right to bring claims in your local courts where that law requires.

17. Arbitration agreement and class-action waiver

Please read this section carefully. It affects your rights.

Informal resolution first. Before starting a claim, you and we agree to try to resolve any dispute informally for 60 days, starting when one side sends the other a written description of the dispute. Send yours to support@snapslice.app.

Binding arbitration. If the dispute isn't resolved, you and we agree that any dispute arising from or relating to SnapSlice or these Terms will be resolved by binding individual arbitration, not in court. Arbitration will be administered by the American Arbitration Association (AAA) under its Consumer Arbitration Rules, by a single arbitrator. It can be conducted by video, by phone or based on written submissions, or in person in the county where you live. Fees are paid as the AAA consumer rules provide. The arbitrator decides all issues, except that a court decides questions about whether the class-action waiver below is valid and enforceable. The Federal Arbitration Act governs this section.

Exceptions. Either side may bring an individual claim in small-claims court if it qualifies, or ask a court to stop infringement or misuse of intellectual property.

Class-action waiver. You and we may bring claims only on an individual basis, not as a plaintiff or class member in any class, collective, consolidated or representative proceeding, and the arbitrator may not combine claims of more than one person. If this waiver is found unenforceable for a claim, that claim (and only that claim) will go to the courts named in Section 16, and the rest of this section still applies.

30-day opt-out. You can opt out of this arbitration agreement by emailing support@snapslice.app from your account's email address within 30 days after you first accept these Terms, with the subject "Arbitration opt-out". Opting out doesn't affect any other part of these Terms.

Changes. If we change this section, the change won't apply to disputes that you've already told us about.

Outside the US. If you live outside the United States, this section applies only as far as your local law allows.

18. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. If we make significant changes, we'll ask you to review and accept the new version in the app before you continue, or give other reasonable notice. Changes don't apply to disputes that arose before them. If you don't agree, stop using SnapSlice and delete your account.

19. Notices

You agree to receive notices, agreements and other communications from us electronically, by email to your account's address or in the app, and that these meet any legal requirement for written communication. Notices are considered received when sent. You can send notices to support@snapslice.app.

20. General

These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and us about SnapSlice. If any part is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect, and that part will be enforced as far as possible. Our not enforcing a right isn't a waiver of it. You may not transfer these Terms without our consent. We may transfer them as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of SnapSlice. Neither side is responsible for delays caused by events beyond reasonable control. Section headings are for convenience only.
