SnapSlice
Health data
Updated October 7, 2026
Receipts can show things like medicine. We use that only to show you your own spending, only with your consent, and we never sell it.
Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy
This policy is required by Washington's My Health My Data Act and similar laws, such as Nevada's. It adds to our Privacy Policy.
1. Health data we collect
SnapSlice doesn't ask for health information. But receipts and shelf tags you scan can show purchases related to health. Under some laws, that counts as "consumer health data". It can include:
- names, prices and dates of medicine, pharmacy items, vitamins, medical supplies, and personal-care or health products;
- pharmacy lines printed on a receipt, such as a prescription pickup;
- categories and totals SnapSlice creates from these, such as "Health & Beauty" spending;
- anything else printed on a receipt photo you add.
2. Where it comes from
Only from you: the receipts and shelf tags you choose to scan or import, and any edits you make.
3. Why we collect and use it
Only to provide the service you asked for: reading your receipts, showing your purchases and spending by category, search, price-drop alerts, and syncing your devices. We don't use it for advertising, and we don't make any inferences about your health.
4. Consent
We collect and process this data only after you give consent in the app, and you can withdraw that consent at any time. To withdraw it, delete your account in Settings → Delete account, or email us.
5. Who we share it with
We never sell consumer health data. We share it only with these processors, which handle it on our behalf, under contract, and only to provide SnapSlice:
- Cloudflare, Inc.: hosting and storage of your receipts and photos.
- Anthropic, PBC: reading receipt and shelf-tag photos with the Claude AI.
We have no affiliates that receive this data. We'd disclose it otherwise only if the law requires it.
6. Your rights
You have the right to:
- confirm whether we collect, share or sell your consumer health data;
- access it, including a list of all third parties and affiliates we've shared it with and their contact details;
- withdraw your consent;
- have it deleted, including by our processors and from backups;
- appeal if we refuse your request;
- not be discriminated against for using these rights.
7. How to use your rights
You can download or delete your data yourself in Settings. For any other request, email support@snapslice.app from your account's email address, so we can confirm it's you. We'll respond within 45 days. If needed, we may extend that once by up to 45 more days, and we'll tell you why. If you delete your account, we delete your data from our systems, tell our processors to delete it, and backup copies expire within 30 days.
Appeals: if we decline your request, reply with "Appeal" in the subject line. We'll answer in writing within 45 days, and explain our decision. If your appeal is denied, you can contact the Washington State Attorney General at atg.wa.gov/file-complaint, or the attorney general where you live.
